Through the Telling Our Stories Oral History Project Themba Arts and Culture works with Black churches and community organizations to document the lived experiences of African American elders that shares African American history and culture. The purpose of this project is to center and amplify the voices of African Americans to tell our own stories and represent our experience with our own words. Themba Arts and Culture transforms each project into podcasts, radio broadcasts and documentaries. We work with universities to archive each oral history to make it available to the public for research purposes.
